Salvation Testimony
I grew up in church and have been exposed to the Gospel my entire life. I responded to a Gospel invitation at the age of 11 and began my journey of following Jesus. Over the years I have come to understand that salvation is not so much a decision in the past as it is a faith walk in the present. Salvation is a journey of repeatedly denying yourself, taking up your cross daily, and following him (Luke 9:23).
Call to Ministry
I sensed God speaking to my heart as a senior in high school and step by step God began to lead me to answer the call to full time ministry. I took one step of faith at a time and with every step God revealed more of his will and plan to me. Finally, I stopped looking for a sign in the sky and surrendered to the voice of God that was speaking to my heart. At that point I began supply preaching in the area of my hometown and soon became a part time youth pastor. Things continued to move forward at a rapid pace and as a sophomore in college I was called, without warning, to my first pastorate where I served four years. With every step along the way, God has confirmed his call upon my life to be a preacher of the Gospel.
Passion in Ministry
My passion in ministry is preaching the Word of God to the people of God for the glory of God. In Acts 6:4 the apostles stated, "But we will devote ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." Ephesians 4:11-12 says, "He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Based on these verses, I believe that I am called, first and foremost, to preach the Word of God prayerfully and faithfully. As pastor, my goals are to cast the vision for the church through the preaching of the Word, to equip the membership to carry out the work of the ministry, and to transform the local church into a launching pad for evangelistic missions in the community, state, nation, and to the ends of the earth. My heart beats for revival to take place in the church and for souls to come to know the Savior and live for Him in holiness.
